Discussion Topics

Rattlesnake Point: Some workforce housing was approved for future developments.

Noise Ordinance: Two more public hearings are scheduled before the final vote.

THAN Website:  Robo-notices about membership have gone out, please ignore as they are incorrect.

THAN Website Directory: Please send in your neighborhood description for the directory on the website

Good Neighbor Notices: The notification distance is currently at 250 feet around the property and the notification of the location’s NA Pres. System is flawed, as sometimes GNN reaches no one around the 250’, or, if the NA is inactive, it reaches no one. For example, the Tampa Heights planned grocery store design was approved by the city before the neighborhood was notified. THAN will ask TCC for new guidelines, from 500-1350’ notification area, depending on the project size and scope. If the rezoning is for a multi-family complex, each resident should be notified. THAN should be notified if it isn’t possible to contact the NA of the site. The builder should hold a community meeting that is well-publicized in advance. Site plans must be mailed to the NA where the development is located. These recommendations will come before the THAN membership for approval.  

Sidewalks: We have closed one loophole, but we still need to raise the fee of paying into the sidewalk fund from $29 to $75 a linear foot of sidewalk. 

Neighborhood Engagement Department, Sandy Sanchez:

Tampa Neighborhood Engagement Manager Janelle McGregor has 4 assistants, if one were designated as a neighborhood association advocate, it would help to streamline the process for everyone.

PURE:

There is a motion before TCC on on approving the money for studying the PURE proposal, it was proposed by some groups to add conservation to the proposal. 

No THAN is scheduled for July.
